My name is Cleston Robson and I was born in Mena,Arkansas in 1924. My father was George W. Robson and my mother Mary M. Her maiden name was Stricklin. My father was born in Ark. in 1872. His father, William M. Robson born in 1834, in maybe Tenn. to William M. Robson . William was born in Ark. in 1834 died there in 1907.He married Dialtha Ledgewood,born 1842 died 1906.Had 6 children. His father, William Robson born 1797 died 1857. Place unknown; maybe Tenn.He married Mary Wordsworth born 1799 died 1859. I would like to go back one more generation to see where the Robsons came from.
My mothers maiden name was Stricklin. Her father, William T. Stricklin was born in Alabama in April 1841. His parents were from Tenn. Her mother the former Harriet Stripland,was born in Alabama in 1841. Her parents were from NC. They married in 1866. Later moved to Okla. Territory where my mother was born in 1882. Later moved to Scott county,Ark. Where most of there were born. Moved to Mena, Ark. about 1922 where I was born. Info on the Stricklins is scarce but William Stricklins father was in Civil. war. His name may have been Jacob. Would love more info on Stricklins, especially where they immigrated from.
