When my mother (Carolyn Ann Smay Bowman Murphy, 1935-2000) died, part of my healing process was beginning work on my family tree. Interviews with my paternal grandmother and great aunts on both sides of the family got me started with names. My husband and I visited cemeteries and took digital photos to aquire dates of birth and death of relatives. Visits to the Westmoreland County Courthouse resulted in marriage dates and copies of marriage certificates, etc. My mother's cousin and Godson Bill was integral in providing information on that side of the family. This is a work in progress and I pleased to share with anyone searching for our family names. I hope you feel the same.
