I began researching my family in 1990. It started as a curiousity and has become a full time hobby. My husband did not know three of his grandparents and I did not know anything about my father's family. Stories that I had heard about both families had peaked my interest! I have been very fortunate to have discovered a great deal of information and to have met some wonderful people along the way. Both families have provided stories of great interest. They have all been hard working people that traveled to a new country for a better life. Their stories have been both heartwarming and sad. The tradegies that they endured are a testament to their strong will and determination. Common surnames that are being investigated are: Robinson, Lovely, Hensley, McIntosh, Shepherd, Williams, Geyer, Reddy, Newhall, Kyle, Sisk, and Chamberlain. I hope that by investigating and preserving our family history my children, family, and future generations can appreciate "from where they came" and can gain some knowledge of what makes up their "personality and character".
