JOHNER/JONER family:
Greatgrandfather, Jakob JOHNER, was born in Oberried, Switzerland, June 30, 1868, died April 2, 1924 in Peseux . Supposedly an Importer/Exporter. Married his wife, Maria Margaritha GATSCHET, May 31, 1889 in Montier. They had 10 children. Grandfather, Emile JOHNER, born May 27, 1893, Nant, Bas-Vully, a bricklayer, was in Swiss Army. Married March 21, 1919?, Adele GAILLET, born January 1, 1899 in Vully Le Haut, Fribourg, daughter of Theophile Gaillet and Marie Anne RUFENACHT. They had one child, Emil, February 8, 1920, in Neuchatel. Immigrated to Greencourt, Alberta, Canada 1923 and had eleven children in Canada. Have been told to look in Swiss books ... do not know names of books ... Volume 3, Page 227 line #21 for Emile Volume 3, page 377 line #21 for Adele
John E. MILLIGAN, born about 1852, married Ellen Ann TACIA, born December 1861 in New York, on October 19, 1974 in Alcona Co., Michigan. He was the son of Wilson and Mary ? Milligan. She was the daughter of Joseph Tacia, SR. born July 12, 1833 York, York, Ontario, Canada - February 6, 1904. They had George William, July 22, 1876, Rilla, December 1879, John, 1882 and Ellen had Frank GOLLAN, 1884. George William MILLIGAN married Sarah Lavina WYNNE, born July 20, 1874, Bruce Co. Paisley, Ontario, Canada, on March 9, 1909. She was daughter of Edward WYNNE, August 3, 1832, Wales? - April 21, 1926, Ontario, Canada and Alice COLBURN. Their other children were Walter, John, Jane, Kate and Albert. George was previously married to Clara Edna SWITSER but it was never talked about. Sarah had a daughter, Violet (McFADDEN) about 1899 but that also was never spoken of. Violet came to visit when Sarah was elderly and was given the family Bible.
George JOHNSTON/E, 1811, Armagh,Enniskillen,Ireland - 1911 Kinloss TWP. Bruce Co., Ontario, Canada married Eliza IRWIN (IRVINE), 1818, Enniskillen - 1911 Ontario. Had two children in Ireland and 4 in Canada. Eliza was daughter of Archibald James Irwin and Mary Stuart Hunter. Have info on the downside on many of them and would like to add, fill in blanks, etc. Willing to share.
