I am the daughter of John David Long and Mable Lucille Rogers. I was born on February 20, 1950. My father was born January 2, 1911 in Booneville, Mississippi. He was the son of John Samuel Long and Mary Elizabeth Pace. He died November 24, 1987 in Olympia, Washington. My mother was born March 2, 1914 in Rossville, Tennessee. She was the daughter of George Ephram Rogers and Rutha Lee Osborne. She died March 28, 1998 in Centralia, Washington.
I know nothing about the ancestors of my paternal grandfather, John Samuel Long. His 2nd wife, Mary Elizabeth, was the daughter of John and Nancy Pace. She was born July 28, 1885. I do not know where, but I imagine it was in Tennessee or Mississippi. She died December 12, 1959 in Salem, Oregon. John S. was near 70 when he married Elizabeth, who was in her late teens. They had 8 children. My father John David was the 4th child, and oldest son after an infant boy who died. My grandfather died when my father was about 10, which would be around 1921.
I also know nothing about my maternal grandfather, George E Rogers. His wife, Rutha Lee Osborne was the daughter of John Osborne and Mary Martindale. Ruthie was born February 20, 1887 in Tennessee. She died October 25, 1962 in Olympia, Washington. They had 7 children.
I was married to Kelly Masteller in 1969. We had three boys, Shay Kelly, February 9, 1970; Christopher Johnathon, June 7, 1972: and Andrew Walter, January 19, 1975. We were divorced in February of 1982. Chris was married to Sibyl Carnal on August 28, 1994 in Oswego, New York. They have no children.
