I'm originally from So. CA, and have created this page in the process of learning more about my geneology. My paternal Rohrbough ancestry dates to Johann Reinhart Rohrbach Jr (b 1740), son of a German emigrant who came to the U.S. ca. 1740s and settled in western VA for several generations. German Rohrbough family records date back to late 1500s. My paternal Gr-Gr grandfather was Clayton Rohrbough (b 1843) of Lewis, VA and Elvaston, Ill. Several of his children moved west to OR, AZ, and later CA. In ~1999, I attended a reunion of "Descendants of Clayton Rohrbough" in Oregon and met several dozen western cousins. I know only a little about my father's maternal ancestry and would like to learn more. My father's maternal grandmother married E.G. Lawley, son of John J. Lawley of Shelby and St. Clair Co, AL. My Gr-Gr-Gr grandfather was John Lawley of N.C. and Shelby Co, AL. Since both sides of my father's ancestry had Southern roots, I'd like to learn how extensively my Southern relatives might be located.
My maternal ancestors were the Coltrins of CA and Nevada. My siblings include Jon Rohrbough, Joel Rohrbough and Jeaneal Rohrbough Dennis; 1st cousins are Michael Rohrbough and Cindy Rohrbough, and Greg Johnson and Jeanne Johnson.
