The Popes of KY and Miller County, MO

I have spent many hours searching for Popes from myself back through the generations in Miller County, MO to Lincoln County, KY to Crab Orchard, VA where I have met up with William Pope, father of William Joseph and John Pope. William migrated with his son John to Miller County in 1839. My problem is that I am having no luck in finding out anything about this William Pope who married Jemimah Vardaman July 3, 1785 in Lincoln County, KY. Hopefully there are others searching this same family who can give me some help. Thanks. Faith
