Just a beginner,I was adopted 45 years ago and found my birth family about 5 years ago thanks to the hard work of my adoptive father. We met at his house, my birth mother's husband (not my father ) and my younger half- brother. I also have 2 older brothers and an older sister who I have not yet met and am unlikely to as they have not 'recognised' my existance although they have been told. I would love to see my half-brother more often but he lives in Scotland with his wife and young son and I live in Lancashire. We do meet as often as we can but we both have busy lives. Unfortunately, I never met my birth mother as she died 3 years before I 'found ' my family, but my brother and his father have told me so much about her. I will always be endebted to my adoptive father for doing all the research and for being so understanding about my need to find my birth mother and the rest of my family.
