Began researching my family with my grandmother Edith Snider and went from there. She married John Underwood my grandfather. She left me her bible and I found a section with her family tree there. The Snider family changed the spelling of Snider to Snyder and went back and forth with the spellings. She had listed her mother, Maude Miranda Key and the brothers and sisters. She also listed her father Robert Taylor Snyder and his brothers and sisters. From this I was able to research these people and find them on census records. All these people lived in East Tennessee so this was very easy to do. I found Maude Key's father Charles Key married to Lois Key in 1900 census in Athens, Tennessee. I got a copy of Charles Key's death certificate and his father is listed as Hamilton Key. I was able to find him in McMinn County Tennessee and Blount County Tennessee and Monroe County along with his wife Margaret Wayman Key. I got a copy of Lois Curton Key's death certificate and was able to find her father and mother were I.E (Issac)Curton and Edna Curton who lived in Meigs County Tennessee. They first showed up on the 1880 census through the LDS online census record. Charles Key, Lois Key, Maude Miranda Key Snider, Robert Taylor Snider and Edith Snider (private) are all buried in Cedar Grove Cemetary in Athens, Tennessee. The Underwood side of the family has been throughly research and I have a copy of the research. Our first relative in America on the Underwood side of the family fought in the Revolutionary War and is William Wedgebar Underwood. There are Underwoods who are family members also buried in Cedar Gvove Cemetary in Athens. The Snider side of the family started in Germany and moved to Virginia. Johann Georg Schneider changed his name to George Snider after he moved to America possibly Virginia. He was married to Elizabeth Pence. His son John B. was born in Virginia and married Elizabeth. John and his family moved to Monroe County Tennessee. John Snider's son is Martin Snider. Martin married Lakey Stedhause Snider who is from Germany. Her daughter Elizabeth Snider had a son named Burton Snider who is father to Robert T. Snider.
