My grandmother March was adopted along with a brother. I have tried to find out about her mother but I haven't had much luck at it. What I have been told that Maggie Smith was adopted by a family by the name of Gorman's and they lived near Bible Grove, Missouri.
I have her adoption paper they were filed at the Court House at Memphis, Missouri in Scotland County in 1879. The mother of maggie Smith was a Bette Smith from Adair County missour.
Ihave searched the library at memphis. Missouri but I couldn't find any thing on Bettie Smith
