The Rost (formerly Rosenstiel) family is from Norcott Court Berkhamsted in the UK. Peter Rost married Hilary Mayo in 1961. Peter's ancestors were from Germany (Elisabeth Merz and Frederick Rosenstiel) while Hilary's parents were Arthur Mayo (parents Jessie Walton and Albert Mayo) and Ena Harrison (parents Arthur Harrison and Elsie Hampton. The Mayos are related to the Mayos in the United States and the Hamptons also emigrated to the States but in the 19th century to Indiana - Chicago. We are in contact with the latter's descendants and will be holding a mini reunion in the Longhope Gloucs area in May
