The Blodgett/Ross-Simonds/Reno/Van Newkirk Connection

Updated August 19, 2001

About Our Family Research

As a direct descendent, through my mother, of Thomas Blodgett, born 1604 in Stowmarket, England, who emigrated to America, arriving in 1635, I have always been interested in our family history. My mother did extensive research during her lifetime, and I inherited her files, and with the help of the internet have been trying to find information on my Ross side, as well as information on my husband's Simonds/Reno/Van Newkirk//Boyer line. It is especially intriging because one of my early Blodgett ancestors is also a descendent of the immigrant William Simonds, which is also the name of my husband's grandfather. We can trace "our" William no further back than his birth on March 26, 1835. We have been able to trace back some information on "our" William's wife Lavina Ann Reno, daughter of John Reno and Jemima Miller. We will continue to search as long as we are able!
