About Our Family Research

For the most part I am Scottish and Russian. My Dad's side has rigously gone through by his mother.
My Mom's side is Russian. I have been told they are a part of the aristocracy in Siberia. This is the little I know from an e-mail my mom sent me:
Anyway, Jennifer or Jennie (My name), was your great great grandmother's name on the Correll side of the family (Babu's husband's side). She was Grandfather Correll's [Nana's (my grandmother Natalie Correll) and Beiko's (my great Uncle) father] mother. She came around the SouthAmerican "horn" to travel to Japan in the mid-1800's with her husband (Nana's grandfather). I have a story about her from your great grandfather's (Nana's father) diary. She was very sick and almost died on the way to Japan (typhoid fever we think from the diary). The good news is that she didn't! Your great grandparents were Episcopalian missionaries to Japan in the middle-late 1800's, and stayed for three generations, through the beginning of World War II when Nana and Beiko came to the United States.
Nana was 18 (this would have been 1941)years old when she immigrated to the U.S. with her brother and mother (her dad stayed in Japan for awhile because he was the U. S. Vice-Counsel to Japan representing the U.S.).
This is what I want to know about -----> Anyway, back to Babu... Her family was Russian aristocracy in Chita (Siberia). She was sixteen when the Revolution broke out. To protect her, her parents put her on a train destined for China to stay with cousins there.... I know the name of the city but cannot spell it ("Bay-shing" Beising?). She never saw her parents again because the Communists shot them and several of her sisters and brothers. Some of her sisters and brothers were scattered around the world Brazil, Switzerland, other countries and one
stayed in Communist Soviet Union. Babu used to get letters from her sister there with words and sentences cut out of them....censored! As you can see I still need to talk with my mom, but talking with Nana is like pulling teeth.
