The Roszel Papers from Canada

Updated September 5, 2003

About Our Family Research

Charles Roszel born April 5 1742.Who came to Canada after his brother's(Joseph) death in 1799 and purchase land in Upper Canada,Gainsborough Twp.Lincoln County. Charles had 13 children most came to Canada but not all. One nephew,Obadiah Roszel who has been mistaken as one of Charles's children also came to Canada. We are of German descent but I have been unable to trace the exact place in Germany with Roszel being such a common name in Europe it makes it difficult.
With the help of many of the family members and neighbors I have compiled many of the family documents some of which many have never been seen before. Everything I have is cataloged and digitally saved from the original records so I leave very little gray area to argue with.
This was done in attempt to clear up all the misinformation about my family printed and on the Web. And I would like to thank Marg Emerson and Mike Devine who has put up with me and the thousand of questions I have ask.

So if you are a family member and have something you would like to contribute or talk about please contact me, more than happy to talk to you.

James E.Roszell
The 3rd great grandson of Charles 1742
