I have been told that my fathers, father side of the family is from Finland. They migrated from finland to the upper penninsula of Michigan. I was told they settled in Bessemer, Mi and worked in the Iron mines. Both my great grandmother and grandfather came from Ulstero, Finland. They left Michgan when the cold winters caused health problems. From Michigan, they moved to Reedley, CA. There is a large Finnish and Swedish population in Fresno County. My father lived with his grandparents in Reedley, Ca.
