Family research goes back to John Rose of Va. who lived in the late 1700's. He was the first to come to america. His ship, the port, date of arrival, and where he came from is not known.

Possibly came over with President Garfield's family? Believed to have landed in Penn. (not sure), moved to eastern part of Ohio, separated from the main group and moved to Va. Died in Va. (maybe West Va. now?), family moved into Ky. Wolfe Cty, Ky. Must have lived there for close to 100 yrs. Great-Great Grandma was a Cherokee Indian. Dad remembers her daughter (his [Great] Grandma) used to smoke a pipe.

Now living in south-west Ohio.
