FISHER , HUBBLE & JONES FAMILIES

The trail "peters out" with William Green Fisher. He told the census taker that he was born in Alabama about 1830, while his children stated that he was born in Tennessee?! Some records state that his second wife was "Polly" but the census records call her Mary! I have discovered that "Polly" is a common nickname for Mary. According to Wilson H. Hubble's 1866 WILL, Mary was his daughter. Her middle name was spelled "Avoline", which sounds like "Evelyn". This is probably why some family records refer to her as "Mary Evelyn". William's first wife was Rebecca Webb. William Green Fisher is said to have had an indian name, "Blackfish". So far, I have found nothing to support this family legend. If anyone can help substantiate this, please contact me. After William G. Fisher's death, his widow married (1893) "Johnson" Jones. John Riley Fisher, the son of William & Mary (Hubble)Fisher, is my great-grandfather. Grace Fisher was the daughter of John Riley Fisher and Rebecca (Sparkman) Polsgrove. Grace married Arthur S. LeMay and had Harrell, Harbert, Phyliss & Anna LeMay. I am Anna's daughter. I live in the state of Maine. THIS SITE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
