James Stanley was born ca. 1787 in Maryland. He left MD with his wife Mary Jane (Ranney) and family and eventually settled about 1830 in Pike Co., IL. James appears to have children old enough to have been married and left behind in MD or perhaps OH. He had 17 children in all, the last is William Stanley b. 1841 who's mother was James' 3rd wife Sarah Glass.
Samuel Noland Stanley is the son of Moses L. Stanley and Mary Jane Pfrimmer, James' grandson and my grandfather. Sam md. Louise Elizabeth Tiller in 1892. Louise was born in Macon Co., MO, the d/o George Warren Tiller and Cordelia Halley.
