Edwin Carl Fischer was born in 1897 in Watseca County, Minn. His parents were Ida Julia Koplen and Wilhelm Kurzbein. His father passed from a wagon accident. Ida re-married Otto Fischer and moved to Aberdeen South Dakota or Eads Colorado (not sure where they resided). Ida died in Eads, Colorado. Edwin moved with his wife Sadie to the Chicago area. They had six children: Clara, Edith, Evelyn, Helen, Edna, and Edwin Jr. Sadie died at age 43. Edwin remarried Mildred Holtz and raised three children, Caroline, Ronald, and Shirley. He died July 19, 1962. Anyone that can contribute to any family history from the Kurzbein, Koplin, or Fischer can contact me at gcrpjr@comcast.net. Edwin had one brother George with the Kurzbein name and I believe seven siblings with the Fischer name: Bennie, Leonard, Bill, Dorthea, Ester, Leona, and Agnes. The Illinois Fischer's have a reunion once a year and would love to include other Fischer's and Kurzbeins.
