Children:Reuben Richard 1829,William Joseph 1830,Martha 1835,Elizabeth 1837,Wiley Ellis 1839,George 1845.Later after the death of Nancy, Enoch married Mary Polly Ann Laughter.Children:Walter 1846,Emily 1849,Matilda 1850,Ellender Malinda 1852,Jessie 1853,Narcissa (Dora)1860,Enoch Franklin 1863.Reuben,William Joseph and Wiley Ellis all served the C.S.A.in the War Between the States.
Enoch may have had a brother named Daniel S.Ruff.In the 1840 census records of Rutherford Co,NC they are listed as Enos Roof and D.Roof.The Ruff/Roof name is used in the same family.
There is a large Ruff/Roof family in the Newberry,Richland,Saluda area of South Carolina.Records go back to when 3 Ruff brothers arrived in SC in 1748 -1752.Have not found the exact data to connect to the SC families.The name of Enoch's father is believed to be George Ruff.Which is a very popular name in the Ruff/Roof family.
