The Ruple/Roppel family genealogy in the US was published in part in 1988 in a book entitled The Ruple Family in America and its Germanic Heritage, a working genealogy available from LDS branch libraries on fiche. New information on the Ruple/Roppel lines can be found at www.familytreedna.com/public/ruple/ or by emailing me at jdroppel@aristotle.net We look forward to hearing from you and appreciate your interest in family history. If you have information on the Swiss Roppel family, or would like to enter our DNA study at the Family Tree DNA site above, you are welcome. If you just have questions, fire away!! We are happy to exchange and share immigrant info that we have with you concerning the southern US Ruple lines and the Swiss Roppel lines, though there still remains work to be done on both.
We are interested in ALL Ruple or ROPPEL male descendants in US Switzerland or Germanic countries participating in our Y-DNA study. It is FUN AND EASY TO DO and the cost for a 25 marker test is lower if you join our group (about $151 US as of this writing)!! A simple cheek cell sample is all that is needed to establish a DNA profile to "find your place" in the US or EUROPEAN family tree or to establish a point of comparision.
This RUPLE/ROPPEL study is young (established in June of 2006), but already has produced EXCITING RESULTS with just the few "founding" members representing the US and Switzerland. WE would like to have those of known GErman descent or lifelong German "Roppel" or "Ruppel" or "Ruple" males participate also.
