GENEALOGY RESEARCH OF THE CAPPONYS Researching The Capponys of the Florida Seminole Indians and their descendents, who may have migrated to Texas, Louisiana, Kansas, Indiana, Mississippi, California and other states unknown. I am compiling a list and will welcome any information on the name of Cappony to help find ancestors and descendents for myself and others. You can email or write to me. Any information will be appreciated. I was told that my great grandfather, Joseph Burritt Cappony (used Capponi sometimes), was from Saint Augustine, Florida and his mother(name unknown)was a Cappony from the Seminole Indians of Florida. My great grandfather's sisters are Estelle Seville(a), Ellen(Helen)Sevelley, who married George Lang, had five daughters named Russia(married Gordan), Semie(married Williams), Percilla(never married), Katie(married Adams), and Mae Ellen(married Horn). He had three children: Edwin(Edward)Cappony(in the military in Arizona?), Oswald Britt Cappony(Texas), and Edwina(Lorraine)Cappony(my grandmother-Texas). He married Bettie Sanders(my great grandmother-married 1914), Rosa L.(Rosalie)(married 1896), and Annie Moore(married 1892).
