SLEEPER/BATCHELDER/BACHILER LINE
The Sleeper/Batchelder (Rev. Stephen Bachiler) connection comes through the marriage of George Washington Russell's grandson, Raymond Field Russell's marriage to Ethel May Sleeper, daughter of Frank H. Sleeper and Lilly Ann Hopkinson of the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada. Raymond's father, Herbert John Russell was married to Catherine Field Russell.

THE COLONIST, THOMAS SLEEPER CAME FROM ENGLAND IN THE 1640'S TO MASSACHUSETTS, THEN LOCATED IN HAMPTON, ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NEW HAMPSHIRE FOR MANY GENERATIONS. MY ANCESTOR, HEZEKIAH SLEEPER MOVED TO VERMONT AND MARRIED HANNAH BATCHELDER. (ANCESTOR OF REV. STEPHEN BATCHELDER WHO FOUNDED HAMPTON, ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NEW HAMPSHIRE AND CAME FROM ENGLAND IN 1632) AFTER LOSING A LAND GRANT IN VERMONT THEY MOVED ALONG WITH THE PARENTS OF HANNA BATCHELDER AS LOYALISTS TO THE EASTERN TOWNSHIPS OF QUEBEC, CANADA. THEIR SON, WRIGHT SLEEPER, WAS BORN IN COATICOOK, QUEBEC, CANADA. ONE OF HIS SONS, FRANCIS (FRANK) H. SLEEPER, AN INVENTOR, LATER MOVED TO WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS AND WENT INTO BUSINESS THERE AFTER FORMING SLEEPER AND HARTLEY, WHICH MANUFACTURED HIS INVENTION OF THE FIRST AUTOMATED SPRING MANUFACTURING MACHINE. BESIDES THEIR HOME IN WORCESTER, MA., THEY HAD A SUMMER HOME IN AYER'S CLIFF, QUEBEC, CANADA, (Eastern Townships) AND A WINTER HOME IN ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA.

THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS AND I PLAN TO MAKE MANY ADDITIONS AND UPDATE
