The Russell family is currently researching descendants of Patrick Russell, born 17 February 1817, Parish of Drimoleague, County of Cork, Ireland. Died 28 August 1907 in Houston Co., Minn. He married in 1845, Virginia? Ellen McCarthy b Jan 1821, Cork Co.,Ireland. It is said that Patrick Russell managed at a time a plantation in Lynchburg--looking for more information on this and marriage. He had six children: Eliz (Lizzie)b15Aug1847; Patrick Jr. b1851 (married to Mary Moran; lived in Minot,ND); Mary Ellen (1854) married a James Francis Casey (they lived in Moorhead,Minn); Henry Francis born 24 April 1858,Caledonia,Minn--died 13 January 1943; Margaret b1857 (married a Ryan, lived in Caledonia, Minn); a Todd/Ted? (married a Mary Faris?). The Russells settled in both the Flandreau SD and Houston Co., Minn areas.
