Hello,
My name is Richard D. Russ and this page is dedicated to my Grandparents on my Fathers' side of the family. My Grand Parents, Walter and Mildred Ayers Russ were born at the beginning of the 1900's and lived the most part of their lives in south central North Carolina in the counties of Cleveland and Gaston. Walter and Mildred lived simple yet hard lives. They lived through the great depression and their chief form of employment was cotton mill work.
I am new to genealogical research, most of the information that I have acquired thus far has come from census records, Social Security Death Index, various on-line data bases and family interviews. Another Russ family researcher once told me that "these Russes can be elusive," this is the one true fact that has held so far!
This page will be updated as often as I find new (verifiable) information. It is my hope to get other family members involved in this project. If you are researching your Russ or Ayers lineage and suspect that your lineage crosses with ours, please do not hesitate to contact me at: rickjim@stargate.net.
Thank you for stopping by, Sincerely, Richard D. Russ and Family
