Rev.John" The Martyr" Rogers (son of John Rogers and Margaret Wyatt) was born 1507, and died 1554. He married Adrina DeWeyden on 1536.

Rev. John Rogers (The Martyr) - born at Aston (near Birmingham, Warwick County, England); educated at Fenborke Hall, Cambridge where he received a B.A. in 1525/26; chosen to the Cardinals College, Oxford; took Holy Orders in the Roman Catholic Church; in 1532 was rector at Church of Holy Trinity the Less; in 1534 went to Antwerp, Brabant, as chaplain to the English merchants (and while there married Adriana deWeyden); in Antwerp he met William Tyndale, was converted to the Protestant faith, and subsequently translated the Bible into the English language; was made rector of St. Margaret Mayses, vicar of St. Sepulchre, and prebend of St. Pancras in the Cathedral of St. Paul, London, 1548. For heretically denying the Christian character of the Church of Rome and the real presence in the sacrement, he was burned at the stake at Smithfield (perhaps two miles northwest of The Tower of London) on 4 Feb. 1555 while his wife and ten children looked on in horror.
