I have a very sparse family, on my mother's side. Her maiden name was Joan Dudley Pratt, daughter of William Bates Pratt. Her mother's name was Mildred Dorothy Beggs, born in Baker Oregon Nov 4 1896. Her father William Bates Pratt died Aug 1931 of peritonitis. She had a sister Beverly Sherman Pratt. I am related to an Edmund Pratt Jr from the northeastern US, I believe the son of a brother to William Bates Pratt. My grandmother Dorothy died in 1987. She had vague remembrances of her grandfather Beggs, and I have a picture of him but no name or information about him other than he came to call on her when she was a little girl (around 1900) in a carriage drawn by four white horses, and this was in Oregon. I'd like to find out more about him, starting with his name! His son was Edmund Hooker Beggs, and he had a telephone company and a stagecoach line from Boise Idaho to Baker Oregon. I have a picture of one of his stages.
