MY RESEARCH HISTORY
I have been researching my Rutherford family tree since 1998. It has been a struggle every step of the way. But I have to say I have enjoyed the challenge even if at times I it made me want to give up.


WHERE I'M AT
My direct Rutherford line is stuck with Thomas Rutherford born about 1830/31 in Bolton-Le-Moores, Lancashire, England and his parent's. I know for sure that his father's name is Thomas Rutherford. His mothers name is either Agnes Atkinson or Mary Ann Rutherford(Unknown).
Thomas Rutherford (b.1831) immigrated to Australia in 1850/51 where he married, had children and his desendants still live today.


WHAT I WOULD LIKE
I would love to discover more about my Rutherford's. In the mean time I would love to help others with their research.

  This is my great-grandfather (William's father & Frances' first husband).
• Thomas Rutherford - WW1 (death & burial) (142 KB)
  This photo was taken November 5th, 2006 exactly 90 years after Thomas was killed in World War One (November 5th, 1916). It shows you where the 1st Battalion AIF made their charge and where Thomas was killed during this charge and later buried (we are not sure if he was re-buried else where).
• Thomas Rutherford - WW1 (unknown soldier) (334 KB)
  Thomas is classed as an unknown soldier of World War One, as his exact burial is unknown (I hope some day to find the location or cemetery where Thomas is buried, I know that I will never know the exact location but a rough one will do). Thomas along with a lot of the unknown Australian soldiers have had their names placed on a memorial at Villers-Bretonneux.
