Family of Alice Leona Cameron and Buford Wilson Mayberry

Updated October 13, 2001

About Our Family Research

I've just started searching. The few things I have and I hope I remember correctly are as follows:
Alice Leona Cameron Mayberry (b. 6 Jan 1894, d. Oct 1971, Clute, TX) and Buford Wilson Mayberry (b. 4 Oct 1886, d. Feb 1971, Lufkin, TX) had two sons, Buford Vernon and Lorne (Earl?).
Buford (b. Edna TX, Jan. 16, 1918, d. Aug. 2, 1982 in Pensacola FL) married Francis Irene Waldroup (b. Monroe LA, June 27, 1921, d. Sept. 9, 1992 in Pensacola, FL). They had two children, Robbye Jo (me) and Buford Vernon, Jr.
Lorne and his wife Anne (nickname Lack) had three children, Kenneth Earl, Beverly Anne, and David Lee.
Alice Leona Cameron (lived in Freeport and Teague TX in later years) had one sister, Laura May who was confined in a mental health facility at Rusk TX for many years, and, at least two brothers, Earl, of Buffalo TX, and Roy, maybe of San Antonio. I think there was another named Malcolm. I believe that Earl and his wife Pearl had a daughter, Virginia Lee who had a son, Cameron Lee, who died as a young man in an accident. Alice's family lived on a farm and I think her mother's maiden name was Thompson.
Buford Wilson Mayberry had several sisters and brothers. The few names I remember are Maude, Dixie and Josie. I know he lived in Paris TX and in Oklahoma in his lifetime. He died in Lufkin TX where he lived for many years with his 2nd wife Lita.
I'll polish this up as I find out more now that I'm retired and have time to search. If I have made errors, I apologize, and hope that anyone who has the correct information will help me sort it out.
