Zacharias Sickels, the common american ancestor of the family, was a native of the City of Vienna, Austria. In 1655 he came to New Amsterdam and soon after attached himself to the garrison at Fort Orange (Albany), New York. My research has found 2271 descendants of Zacharias and I am constantly adding names all the time. Both the spelling Sickels and Sickles are found in the family. I also have many records of Sickels/Sickles that I have yet to connect to the Family Tree. I would be happy to share any information that I have.
