My name is Judith Sabich, and live in Auckland, New Zealand. I hope that you may be able to help with information regarding our mutual surname. I was always told as a child, that there were no other “Sabich’s”. My Grandfather was an only son, and when he left his village of Dravidic, Dalmacia (now Croatia) at the age of 16 yrs to come to NZ, he left behind a sister who apparently looked after their parents until their deaths, and that she never married. My Grandfathers’ name was Luka Sabich. When he arrived he worked as a gum-digger, in the far north of New Zealand. He meet Ivy Rippingale and had 3 daughter’s – Pam, Nancy and Maria, and a son Milan Walter Tony Sabich (my father). Milan married Joyce Lorraine Dolman and had four children – Judith, Yvonne, Karen and Andrew. We also all have children. You can understand my surprise when I typed in “Sabich family” on the net, and discovered that there were approx. 20 “Sabich’s”, living in the USA. I am still trying to find if there are “Sabichs” any where else. To date I have had no luck in finding any in Croatia, but I will keep trying. This all leads to the question – could you or the other Sabich’s be possible relatives, and how? I have two children, daughter - 19yrs, and a son - 16 yrs old.
Regards Jude.
