Presently, at my local genealogical society library, I research both my paternal Saft ancestors and my maternal Selk ancestors. So far, for my Saft Family Tree, I have acquired mailed photocopies of obituaries--of the parents and most of the siblings of and including my father, Elmer Saft--printed in the Cambridge, Guernsey County, Ohio newspaper. Also, in October 2000, at the MEMORIAL SERVICE for my father, I met one of my paternal Saft Uncles, my father's elder brother, who contibuted some Saft family facts.
And only a few years ago, while searching my maternal Selk side, by serendipity, I discovered two living Second Cousins, who immediately responded with e-mail--about every few days since--and mailings of photos and documents about our common Great Grandfather, who emigrated from Denmark/Germany, and immigrated to Omaha, Nebraska. Since then together we have discovered, accumulated, and exchanged a lot of information and interesting stories about our Selk ancestors.
Now, here, for my two sons and one daughter and their children, I have started a FAMILY TREE for adding new data to my Saft and Selk branches.
