Hi I am searching for my GGGrandfather and my GGrandfather. William Beggs was possibly born in Scotland; later moving to Canada where he met ? who was born in "Eng Canada". They had one known child, my GGrandfather Joseph Beggs. Joseph was born about 12MAR1862 in "Eng Canada". He at some point Joseph migrated to Colfax Township, Oceana County, Walkerville, Michigan. Where he was one of the first settlers. He first appears around 1895. I don't find him in the censuses until 1910. He purchased two 40 acre parcels of land in Colfax Twp., which I have the deed to one that was sold to a Samuel Steele of Indiana. I haven't been able to find the deed for the other one as yet. Joseph married Clara(h)Marie Green b. 21JAN1887 in Michigan (I believe)they wed 31AUG1904. My grandfather was born a few months later; Francis "Frank" Leon Beggs b. 2NOV1904. Following Gramps was:
Archibald "Archie" Mclean Beggs b. 25DEC1906
Thelma Marie Beggs b. 1909 and...
Madeline "Midge" Lee Beggs b. 1JAN1911
Joseph died 3NOV1911 in Colfax Twp, Walkerville, Michigan and is buried in the Colfax Cemetery.
