Includes NotesNotes for George Philemon Micks:
-W John Henry
He left home when still quite young and went to live with an aunt in Queensville. JH thinks this was Hannah
Traviss. Teh stories shift slightly depending on the teller, but it would seem that he and others left an unhappy home. His last remembrance of home was his mother under the influence of alcohol and whipping a horse. His parents were eventually separated. Another curious recollection of this time is that it occurred not at the family home near Allison, but at Nobleton, home of his great-uncle James.
George Philemon and Isabel Kellington were married by Elder L Clark likely of the Christian Church, of which they were members for a number of years. They farmed in North Gwillembury for a number of years. After his wife's death, he retired to Sharon.
Information for the George Micks family is well documented. His Family Bible is in excellent repair and is updated regularily by it's holder, Ivan Gordon (Now in his cousin's possession, Louise Sargeant) George's granddaughter, Violet Jackson recorded the family from her kowledge in the late 1980's sending the results to a cousin in Michigan, who shared the information.

Found a York County Hospital letter , undated, addressed to Mr George Micks of Newmarket thanking him for his donation ($1000.00) to the new Margaret Davis Memorial Wing. In going through the accompanying brochure, George Micks is listed as having sponsored a semi-private room.
