HANNAH MARIE SARGEANT COLEMAN

Hannah was the first born child of Jesse Sargeant and Elizabeth
Barnes. She was born at their first home near Inglis Falls in
1859.

She married Thomas Coleman of Dublin Ireland (his second wife).
They had four children, (Mary Emma Craig 2 Mar 1888-21 Jan 1969),
(Harriet Collinson 3 Mar 1890-26 Aug 1974), (Thomas Russell
Coleman and (David Coleman). Lived at Tara Ontario

Dow--One of Aunt Hannah's children was kicked by a cow in the head. She developed a growth and died of cancer. I think her name was Norma, but I don't see her in the list of children.

Roseline-A good down-to-earth person and a child of the King
One of my favourite aunts and a scrupulously clean person. Kept here hardwood kitchen floors ever so nice. She had a huge old fashioned stove in her living room. Often when we drove to Owen Sound in those severe frosty winter days we went to Aunt Hannah's place to get "thawed out" at her big stove. She gave us a very kinbd welcome. Aunt Hannah catered for weddings. In fact she had a very real part in Mildred Stratton's wedding. I have fond memories of Aunt Hannah.

Her grandson, Murray Coleman lives in Three Hills Alta a missionary under the Sudan Interior Mission. He might be able to give you a snap and further information.

Mildred--Dave's son Murray was a missionary in Ethiopia. They came back to Three Hills (Alberta) to replace a couple who where killed in a car accident.

Dow--Hannah was a very hard working lady. She could polish a wooden floor with wood ashes until it just gleamed. One of her great traits was cleanliness. She believed that it was certainly next to godliness and I hated to see her coming because she would come at me and wash my ears---just dig them out!!!

She was an unusually good cook. Her main trait was trying to help people. She catered to a lot of socials, weddings and banquets. She'd plan them and get everything put together. She was paid well for it. This was after she lost her husband. I never knew her husband, he'd died before I was born.

Mildred--When I got married, Hannah and Aunt Harriet looked after the refreshments. That was their gift to me. We had a tent out on the lawn at the Dainard farm.
