THE SCARBOROUGH FAMILY OF NORWICH & VIRGINIA

Updated April 5, 2006

About Our Family Research

I have used family histories, books, and the like plus Family Tree Maker and Genealogy Com. to assist in tracing my South Carolina branch of the Scarborough Family from England via Virginia and North Carolina to what was then the Sumter (now Lee) District/County of Sourh Carolina. In so doing I have added the Mood family connection (beginning during the Revolutionary with the three immigrant Muth brothers of Germany who arrived during and fought on the American side of that war, particularly one of whom who settled in Charleston South Carolina as a silversmith after the fighting was over and the Stallworth family from Virginia through South Carolina to Alabama from whence a daughter married a Scaborough and moved back to South Carolina. A brief link of the McRae family of Mississippi with the Stallworth family beginning in the late 19th Century is also included.
