Nathaniel died 5 Aug 1868 in Screven Co. I believe that Polly and Nathaniel are buried near his father in unmarked graves in the Scott-Powell Family Cemetery. I've also heard family legend state that Nathaniel is buried next to July, the slave who brought news of Lorenzo Dow Scott's death. Nathaniel deeded land to widows and children of sons, Lorenzo Dow Scott, Hope Brigdon Scott, and John M. Scott in Dec 1865. Nathaniel's death date from Southern Christian Advocate, 1867-1878.

Possibly buried in Scott/Powell family cemetery in unmarked grave.
