John Scriven (27 October 1623 - 2 October 1675) of Dover, New Hampshire, his family and descendants have been the focus of my research for many years. John and his wife, Mary, had four children: Edward Scriven, John Scribner, Sr., Thomas B. Scribner and Elizabeth Scribner. Edward was impressed into the English Navy in 1679. Elizabeth married Samuel Eastman of Salisbury, Massachusetts, 6 November 1686. John and Thomas became the ancestors of two large families of Scribners in the United States and Canada.

I am concentrating on the Scribner Family as it has descended from John Scribner, Sr. (1675 - ca. 31 May 1738) and his wife, Elizabeth Cloyes (ca. 1665 - ca. 2 March 1735/36). In 1999, I completed a comprehensive history of the first four generations of John and Elizabeth's descendants. This Home Page includes information about John and Elizabeth, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and their parents. I am happy to share information about these and following generations, as well as the ancestral line of Scrivens of Shropshire County, England.
