Welcome to my home page. I am from the Seay line which is documented back to Carr W. Seay of Spotsylvania County, VA. Carr was born in abt. 1794, we believe in adjoining Hanover County, VA. In 1815, he married Jane Dillard. Three years later, he purchased a farm on the Po River south of the courthouse and raised a family of four children: John Thomas Seay, William Anthony Seay, Mary Jane Seay (Wilson) and Elizabeth A. Seay (Talley).
John Thomas Seay moved on to populate Graves County, KY after a few years spent in Williamson, TN. William Anthony Seay stayed on the family farm and endured the hardships of the War of Northern Hostility. William Anthony Seay married Nancy A. Crawford in 1845 and they had five children: James Bennet Seay who was born in 1851, William Waller Seay who was born in 1853, John O. Seay who was born in 1855, Jane R. Seay and Edward B. Seay.
To date, most Seay researches believe that the four early great Seay Patriarchs were Isaac, James, Jacob and Abraham, all of Virginia and all born in the 1690s best we can tell. I believe they were all brothers. The current task of the Seays who identify with Carr W. Seay is to tie Carr back into one of these four.
I would invite all interested Seay researchers to join us in the Seay family GenForum and let us know how you connect up. And I enjoy getting e-mail as well from all who may be interested in genealogy.
As for myself, I now live in Wilmington, North Carolina. My line comes forward from William Waller Seay referenced above.
