Notes for Andrew Hendon Simmons: Andrew was named for Andrew Hendon, the man who was so good to Andrew's father, Asa. Andrew Hendon Simmons and wife, Fannie lived in Troup Co.,Ga. They moved to Freestone Co.,Tx when Evelyn [my grandmother] was about four or five years old. All of the children grew-up around Shanks,Texas. Most moved away as they married. Andrew and Fannie moved to Holiday, Texas to live beside their daughter, Ida Ellis, in their old age. At that time Ida was a widow with young children. They rented a house next door to her. I don't know for sure but think that they maybe buried in Holiday.
