The Sealeys of Barbados

Updated September 27, 2001

About Our Family Research

Clarence Messiah Sealey (or Sealy), migrated to the Republic of Panama to work on the canal after (for what I was told) being rejected by a stepmother. While working in Panama he fell ill with malaria but survived (and as a result became a christian). He therefore returned to Barbados to marry Josephine Blackman, whose parents had rejected him because he was not a man of God. They returned to Panama where Clarence became a Pastor. Josephine, at a young age and after bearing 7 children, became ill; Clarence sent her back to Barbados where she died. Nothing else is known of her. Clarence died in his 80's in Panama some time in around 1956.
