I am setting out to try to write down the descendants of these two people who were my grand parents, the parents of my father Raymond Neale McClymont. David is a mystery person and not a lot is Known about him. He used to tell my mother he came out to New Zealand with his parents and lived in the Oamaru and Timaru Districts but I have yet to find anything about him in this area. He was a well dressed man who knew all about differnt types of cloth and we thought maybe he had some tailoring background. He may have been married in New Zealand, possibly to a Maori women. I can remember he used to say to me Tena koe pakeha when I was a little girl. In 1915 he left Motu Station in Taranaki to go to the first world war. At this time he was about 40 years old. He put his next of kin on his army records a friend's name. Also on his military records it says his place of birth is Australia. He spoke about brother Hugh and James and a sister Jeannie or Jessie. After the war he settled in Tasmania and became a pastrycook and I can remember as a little girl taking him his lunch and he would reward me with a birdsnest meringue. My uncles name is Bruce Milton and in Otago there is a town called Milton in Bruce County and I think grandad may have also spent some time in this area.
