The Pilgrim Lutheran Church near Lexington NC has several Sechrist names, including George Frederick JR (implying there is a Sr) husband of Emilie(?) and father of Andreas (Andrew). Andrew b. 1793 became a Lutheran minister and was alternately ordained and defrocked by TN and NC Synods. His wife, Mary Wampler, after 5 children, decided to leave him as he was on the circuit, around 1830. She, with the kids, went to her parents across the border in VA, and thence to OH(?), but settled for a few years in Bruceville, IN. Then across the Wabash to Lawrence Co, IL near Birds. Andrew must have heard from neighbors that she was headed to IL, for he turns up as a minister not 40 miles away, near Olney, IL. However, they never connected and she is buried in Birds as Mary Secrets. Related Sechrist in Morgan, IN.
