In talks with my family from the father side(Serrano) and mother side(Garcia), I've notice some information has been lost through the years. From my mother's side I know more, because it is recent history. I mean the family that came to Puerto Rico from where my mother's line starts. They came from Spain after the US came to Puerto Rico in the Spanish American War in 1898. My grandfather from my father's side, Eduardo Serrano, was born that same year and his family came to Puerto Rico way before that year. My family history is dificult to find, because for one thing my mother family came from Spain in the 20th century and farther back I would have to research in Spain, and my father's family is Serrano. Serrano's have been in PR since the 16th century and the lastname Serrano is one of the oldest lastnames of Spain dating back to the time of the Romans. I'm sure its going to be a fun ride.
