I am Melanie Serroul from Ft. McMurray, AB. My father's family is from Nova Scotia and have over the years relocated through out Canada. My grandfather Thomas Douglas Serroul, who went by Doug Serroul passed away nearly 30 years ago. Myself being 21 years of age never had the opportunity to meet my grandfather, however I heard he was a pretty cool guy. He worked in the coal mines of Nova Scotia and over time developed cancer resulting in his death. My grandmother, Myrtle Serroul, is still living in Nova Scotia enjoying her youthful young age.

It is from my understanding that the Serroul family originally came to Canada from France. However I don't know exactly how many years ago that was, but I do believe that my grandfather and his siblings were the first born in Canada.

Hopefully I'll learn more about my family history so I can add a lot more exact information.
