I love digging into my family history and I just plain love history. My grandma has had a family tree for her side of the family and also my grandpa's, but no one has ever bothered to dig deeper. It has been so interesting to find others who are researching the same families, even if a sibling of one of my ancestors! My mother's side of the family is rich in history and has been in America for many generations. My father's side of the family arrived in America in the early 1900s when his grandfather came originally from Wales, through Birmingham, England (where he met his future bride) and then went directly to Ohio after landing in New York. His future bride (my great-grandmother) arrived a short time later. Such a young history here in the U.S. and I unfortunately do not have anything more beyond this couple on my dad's side. As I said earlier, my grandma got me started and my grandparents are still living at this time (8/2005) at the age of 89! I love and appreciate them so much and enjoy talking about the families they remember from their younger days. Now they come to life as I discover more about them...
