Looking at the info you kindly sent below, they look tantalising close to my Plumptons; but how close is open to conjecture:-
From the 1851 census, George Plumpton (a bricklayer & father of my gt gt grandmother Ellen Plumpton) was born in Appleton, Cheshire in about 1806; & his wife Margaret was born in Sutton? in 1805. Ellen was born in Farnworth in approx 1826; her brother John was born in Sutton? in 1829; brother Peter was born in Farnworth in 1831 - the family must have moved to Warrington between 1831 & 1836 as sister Martha was born there circa 1836 & Alice in 1837 & brother George in 1840.
Your 2nd George below was christened in Farnworth in 1805, whereas my George was born about the same time in Appleton but would seem to have brought his family up initially in Farnworth - it's tempting to suggest that they are probably related .. & even an outside chance they are the same person?! .. what are your thoughts?
