The Sheldt family is believed to have immigrated to the U.S. from
Germany abt. 1839. We have not been able to establish any connections directly to a German heritage. Our earliest records
are of Phillip Sheldt, born about 1839 who supposedly immigrated
to Enterprise, Mississippi. He married Matilda Anne Wolfe who
also immigrated to Enterprise Mississippi. Their children moved
to Whistler, Alabama, near Mobile.
