Martin Forehand (son of John Forehand and Rebecca Martin) was born May 03, 1799 in North Carolina, and died January 20, 1854 in Bastrop, Texas. He married (1) Unknown on 1823. He married (2) Narcissa Watson on 1840. He married (3) Phebe Payton on August 25, 1853 in Bastrop, Texas.

Martin was a Blacksmith, A 2-term Justice of the Peace. He owned 500 acres of land in Davidson and Williamson Counties. He was also a distiller and a real-estate agent. He acted as an administrator for a number of people. He and a Dempsy Sawyer organized a "Big Hawg Drive", and they lost $1500 on the drive. He also was a partner in the Richland Turnpike Co. He built about 5 miles himself.

In 1846 Martin went bankrupt. James S. DeMoss was appointed as administrator for him. He specified that any monies left over be given to Richard N. Forehand. He and his family moved to Williamson County, Texas. In the 1850 census he was listed as a Grocer.
