Descedents of Daniel P Shirey of St John, NB, Canada - 1830Updated February 22, 2001 |

| I am particularly interested in connecting my great-grandfather, Daniel Patrick Shirey and his siblings back to their parents. He and his siblings immigrated to St John New Brunswick, Canada in 1838 from Culdaf, Sligo, Ire. Immigration records indicate spelling as "SHERRY' I am also trying to trace his wife's family. She was Margaret Scannel or Scanlan a native of Kennebecasis, NB, Can. They were married in St. John, NB on May 12,1846. She is listed in Canadian Census as "NATIVE" whereas her husband is described as "immigrant". Most of my mother's side were dead before I was born. Her father, Thomas Gorman was born in 1852 in Duldak, Ire. and his wife Mary Ellen McDonald was born in Armagh,Ire in 1853. They apparently had relatives working in the lumbering industry in Wisconsin. I would like to flesh out this side of the family as I am the only known survivor on their side of the family. |
